Polybook - drgnclw

I'm kind of a shy person so I haven't shared any of my work online yet (except for cgc exercises and an unrelated model) but I've started to think it might be productive to share my humble models, textures and some 2d art.

    @drgnclw I understood that this sculpted part is gambeson. That's probably just the camera angle then. Anyway, good job so far!

    @drgnclw Nice work so far! This is coming together real nice 😊👍🏻

    The block out of the character is done. Everything is pretty much worn on top of something else so it might be difficult to distinguish one thing from another (Boots from trousers, for example) Not much else to say, really. Some things could have been better as always :D

    @drgnclw  very good work ! solid sulpt and anatomy !  were r u going to take that model ?

  • odunov replied

    mmalhomsi To completion! :D Next step is retopo, I'll model a proper belt, dagger, sword (both with scabbards) and a poleaxe. I also want to learn how to rig it.

    @drgnclw when a saw the pretty hands u sculpted ! i feel bad about the gloves ! r u going for a game ready character or else.?

    keep the good job ! i ll follow this thread with pleasure

  • odunov replied

    mmalhomsi Thanks very much! I feel bad about the whole body since it's all covered up except the face :D

    Yes. I'm going for a game ready character. There's going to be a lot more sculpting for micro details so I'm hoping the gloves are going to look great.

  • malhomsi replied

    @drgnclw it s going to look great ! i m sure !

  • smurfmier1985 replied

    @drgnclw Awesome looking character! I love where this is going, good stuff 😄👍🏻

    Psst.. There's a Rigging Bootcamp coming up, it's currently in the pre production stage. I'm sure Wayne will teach us Rigging the "easy" way if you're willing to wait a bit 😉

  • odunov replied

    ssmurfmier1985 Let's hope it comes out just after I finish texturing :D

  • Pavel Mazanik(nekronavt) replied

    @drgnclw Good work!

  • odunov replied

    I haven't posted anything about the retopology process because I don't think it's interesting :D It took me some time to finish this (would have taken one more day if I hadn't rushed the feet) Feel free to post criticisms if you have. I'll note them down but won't modify the model further. I'm bored of it :D

    I'm not going to do retopo on rest yet. Instead, I'm going to do some research on belts, sketch some weapon concepts, create a mail material and go over the materials I've created so far and make some changes so that I can use them in this project.

  • malhomsi replied

    @drgnclw good retopo !

  • lavabear replied

    Wow, that character looks great! Good job! I can imagine him moving already :DD

  • smurfmier1985 replied

    @drgnclw nice work :)

  • silentheart00 replied

    @drgnclw Solid retopo.

  • odunov replied

    Thanks you all. I don't want to flood the topic with four different messages, so I hope you see this :D

  • odunov replied

    Sketched out the weapons. I kept everything very simple like my character and haven't colored any of them. It would be a waste of time.

  • odunov replied

    I made two materials in the past two days. An unpolished steel for the breastplate and a mail armor for, well, the mail armor. I might end up changing the steel a bit.

  • smurfmier1985 replied

    @drgnclw Awesome materials! The texture on the steel one does remind me a bit of concrete though.. the mail armor looks really really good!!

    Keep up the good work 😊👍🏻
