Yes, I use a Wacom on Linux Mint, Blender 2.76b, works fine, just setup the pens buttons.

It’s pretty difficult to use a trackpad with Blender. I highly suggest getting a three button mouse. A simple, cheap one will work just fine :)

Hello! I am a bit confused about 3d modeling, 3d sculpting, clay scumpting… Can I create awesome sculptures using just blender or would I have to pick something like zbrush?

When I heard blender was for creating, modeling and animating I thought this software was kind of focused on creating sculptures and models.

Now I realize many people sculpt in other software, or even clay sculpt before working on blender so… what about all the mesh and sculpture tools in blender? Are they second rate?!

Hey there, sorry about the late reply.

Blender is great at sculpting! It and ZBrush are on different levels, but are also suitable for different things. Blender is more suited for independent artists that either choose not, or can’t afford multiple speciality tools. ZBrush on the other hand is mostly specialized in sculpting.

For a good intro to Blender’s sculpting check out Kent Trammell’s Digital Sculpting Fundamentals: https://cgcookie.com/course/fundamentals-of-digital-sculpting/

How do you use Blender on two different monitors? Would be nice to put the windows on one monitor and the model on another. TY

Go to the top right corner of the 3D Viewport. Click on the corner as if you were duplicating window as usual but with Shift button. It will open the same viewport but in a floating window. You can then move this window to another screen and change it to whatever view you need there.
