Oh heck yeah!  Going to find something for you to critique!

  • Jake Korosi(jakeblended) replied

What is the deadline for submitting a project?  I'm planning a new project and if I get it completed some time before the stream I may want to try to get it critiqued.

  • Pavel Mazanik(nekronavt) replied

Wow, you won't let us rest, aren't you? :-) (jk, not resting anyway)

  • smurfmier1985 replied

I would Love to know when the deadline is too, working on a project that I think might be finished in time, lots of new techniques for me there so I think it being critiqued would be very helpful 😊

  • yukino hatake(yukinoh1989) replied

True the deadline is probably pretty handy to know. also can we only ask one thing or are we allowed to ask 2 critque's

gonna try to fill in the fill in form questionary now and watch some video's to continue improving my eevee :)

  • Mahir Tasin(mahir07) replied

    Wow, sounds very interesting!

  • Kent Trammell replied

jakeblended ssmurfmier1985 yyukinoh1989 Good call about a deadline - I just added one to the instructions.

You're welcome to submit 2 projects for critique, but they'll be secondary. Meaning that we'll critique the first project from everyone before critiquing anyone's second.

  • Kent Trammell replied

nekronavt Heh well we've been consistently broadcasting a weekly live stream for over a year at this point. Classes/Workshops have been the focus of the weekly stream every other month (in 2019 they'll be every 2 months) and in between we do guest interviews, one-off projects, topical discussions (like freelancing tips or making income on the Blender Market), critiques, blender short film reviews, etc). So in that sense nah there's no breaks!

Have you seen our past streams catalogue? There's a ton of content there if you'd like to not rest 😅

  • smurfmier1985 replied

@theluthier Nice! Thats enough time so I'll be turning something in to be critiqued 😊 Just one, 'cause I'll also be spending some quality time with the mesh modeling boot camp too 😎 Better get to work!

  • Brandon Ruffin(bruffin095) replied

I have a piece of work finally on the way, and will be done by the 25th at the latest! See you all then! Really busy!

  • Brandon Ruffin(bruffin095) replied

And yes, will be giving better context for this one, as well as my presence!

  • Kent Trammell replied

@bruffin776 Looking forward to it, Brandon 👊

I'd like to submit this for critique.  I'd like to know if I'm on the right track anatomy-wise, maybe some tips/direction on adding hair.  I have looked at the hair cards tutorial, but since this hairstyle is kind of spiky and upright, I'm not entirely sure where to go.

  • smurfmier1985 replied

Oh I see the date of the livestream has changed to one I can not attend :-( I'll save my project for another time then! ah well, gives me more time to make it really awesome :-)

  • yukino hatake(yukinoh1989) replied

ssmurfmier1985 you can still submit and watch it afterwards

  • John Sanderson(procyonlotor) replied

I won't be able to make the livestream cause of work, but I will definitely come back to it.  Here is a character model I did after completing Kent's stylized character class: a sort of test to see if I could go through the whole process again on my own.  I got the concept art from fellow cookie member vveyz  here. I came back recently to give him a rig and some more interesting poses. There were a lot of firsts for me with this project: first hand-painted anything, first time I made a character rig (got in over my head there for sure), etc, and I could pretty much use critique for every part of the process.  I wanted something that could be a suitable game asset.  Though the rig I have set up currently is pretty bad (see his pants/hands) and I think even basic animations would be problematic until I can get that right.

  • Kent Trammell replied

ssmurfmier1985 Ahh man, I'm sorry Miranda. But like Yukino said, you can still get your project critiqued and watch it later. Though its certainly a bummer to not be there live in case you have questions or we ask for clarification on something. Or you could save it for next time.

  • Kent Trammell replied

pprocyonlotor Cool character, John! I love the bright green-blue of his skin. It's on the list for critique 👍

  • Kent Trammell replied

silentheart00 Sounds great, silent. Kilyn's bust is on the list 👍

  • Jere Haapaharju(swikni) replied

Please critique this scene (first two images). At the moment I see it as material for my portfolio but it would be nice to hear if there are parts that catches your eye.

I always seem to go for a dark and mysterious atmosphere in my renders but they mostly end up too dark and when I try to light them more the contrast and shadows gets lost.

The style I try to keep is some kind not-too-photorealistic-but-close -ish.
