addon udate for 2.8

Hello, it looks like the add on used in the lesson is no longer compatible with blender 2.8, do you know if there's an alternative or a newer version of this add on ?

I'm sorry but I'm not aware of a 2.8 addon equivalent to the one in the course. Eventually tools will develop but it's too early in 2.8's life cycle currently.

Also the Blender Foundation hired a full time sculpt developer so we might see similar tools included with Blender 2.8 before too long.

As for following this course, your best experience is going to be using the same version used in the course. What you learn will translate to 2.8 for the most part, especially conceptually.

it will be hard to retro adapt myself since blender shortcuts are a bit different in 2.8, but it seems like it's the only viable solution for now.

    thank you for your answer

Here's a tip by spikeyxxx how this can be done in Blender 2.82.7:

    https://cgcookie.com/questions/11731-can-i-do-that-in-2-8-when-there-is-no-sculpt-tool-ui

This functionality wasn't there in the release candidate 2.80.74, so that you have to download if necessary a newer version of Blender. Please note, that Dynamic Topology has to be deactivated before selecting "Mask Extract" in the "Mask" menu and that it extracts the areas that have been masked out (that is the black areas)!

It essentially copies the masked out areas and makes them a separate object with a solidify modifier that is named "mask_extract_solidify".
