When I did the dirty vertex painting on my high res sculpt it just sort of uniformly darkened everything rather than darkening the crevices and lightening the ridges and I cant figure out why, any idea whats happening?

When I ran the dirty vertex shading 3 or 4 times I got the same results, not sure why it took a few runs of it though.

Hmm..yeah, I wonder why it took 3 or 4 times running. Thanks for posting your resolution for anyone else who might experience this quirk.
