There's no way i can complete the 4 courses that i got the furthest with before the 4th. Pretty annoying that I'll loose all progress. Wish we would have been informed a few monts ago
At least you have enough time you could make a note of where you're at on any courses you haven't completed yet so you'll know where you are :D
but for some courses you needed to get the submission accepted before it's checked off as completed. I'm now trying to finish Ancient Pillars from the minimalism course. But I can only work on the computer for a short time. I had a bleeding in my retina a while back and since that time I find it very tiresome to do computer work. Lines are not straight anymore. I'll see what I can do in one week but it's stress
Hey
sheila5,
The issues with your retinas really sounds unpleasant. I'm really sorry to hear you're going through that.
Transitions are always a bit of a pain. I'd make sure you keep a copy of whatever work it is that isn't yet graded. With that, and a note on your progress, you should be golden. I know it'd be ideal if that just carried over, but there are always things that aren't quite the way we want when transitioning systems. :-/
If you go to your Dashboard, then go to progress, that's a central place where you can see all the courses you've taken and where you're at with them. There's also submissions on the left if you want more info on what you've already done.
Hey everyone,
wardred - Thanks for kicking off this thread, and thanks to everyone for your patience during the transition. We're working to carry over as much as we can, but we won't be able to bring everything with us.
On course progress:
sheila5 - We can migrate lesson progress that's 100% complete. So if you're 90% through the Minimalism course, every lesson you've fully finished will carry over. But a lesson that's partway done (say, 56% through a video) won't transfer and will come across at 0%.
My take: you don't need to rush through your courses to "finish" them. That said, if you jot down where you are in anything you're mid-way through, you'll be doing future-you a favor.
Any other questions? Drop them here or email support@cgcookie.com.
p.s. I'm eager to see what everyone thinks of the new site. Things will be different but also pretty awesome. :)
ok Wes, thanks for that explanation. I'll still try to finish this last lesson for that course, but at least I don't have to also rush all the others. I hope the new site is friendly for people like me that want a light theme (and still give the option for dark theme for the other half of the population). In firefox I solved the dark theme but not on duckduckgo yet
Did the migration actually take place ?
I came this morning (in France - that is to say, when all you guys in the US were still sleeping) take a look, and found that my progress in various courses was actually still there :D
Hey there! Nah, the migration hasn't happened yet. We're internally shooting for the 18th or the 25th of August. Originally, we were aiming for the 4th and wanted to try to communicate to everyone to be ready for the move, but as with anything a few additional chunks of work were discovered on our end that pushed it back. Apologies for the trouble and we're actively heads down working to make it happen!
