Sculpt brush textures

Collaborations

Hi,

Are the texture files used for sculpting brushes in Kent's Human course available for download?

thanks,

...Bob Klassen

The textures are included in the course files. :)

I've looked at a few. Could you point me to one that has them please?

  • coyo (coyohti) replied

They are pngs in a folder called "skin-stamps" rather than in a specific blend file.

  • Bob Klassen(kingstonbob) replied

That makes sense. Ok, now I'm having trouble opening the zip files. I'm on a Mac and it identifies the HUMAN_source_files.zip.001 to 010 as RAR archives. But the Unarchiver, which works on both zip and rar, can't open any of them.  I tried changing the file suffix to .rar but didn't fool anyone.  Just a comment, but the zip files have a strangely even file size of exactly 1000 Mb.

    Hey Bob,

I did see another Mac user ask a question with a similar issue,

I'm not a Mac user and I cant find the question to refer you.

    Maybe @theluthier or spikeyxxx remembers.

I don't use Mac either, but jeewon mentions this:

The files are a split archive so, as mentioned above, you need to download all of them and open them using something that can handle 7zip archives.

7zip appears to have a Mac version available here: https://www.7-zip.org/download.html - By choosing the 001 file to unarchive 7zip should automagically detect the rest of the files in the archive set and unarchive the lot of them. (As shown here, but this example shows Windows... https://cgcookie.com/lesson/intro-to-sculpting-the-human-head)

I hope this or previous answers help!

Thank you.  I found that Keka (Mac App Store) was able to unzip the source files so I could get the skin stamps.  Many thanks.

Glad you resolved it, Bob! Thanks coyohti spikeyxxx for the help 🙏

Those files do not appear to be within the course source files included with the ultimate blender basics Bundle in the fundamentals of sculpting course. i even tried redownloading them. here is all i get after extracting the files. No skin folder/files anywhere. why aren't they included in my bundle? here is the link to the page for my bundle. https://cgcookie.com/downloads/blender-core-skills-the-ultimate-blender-basics-bundle. Please help (BTW ignore the "Lesson_06_StartTim.blend" file as that is my personal file)Untitled2.png

You can download them in the Course Files button in the course page here:

    Hey BBrowneyebill
    Answered in the separate question

  • Tim Parrish(Browneyebill) replied

Omar Domenech when I click that link it asks me to sign in and i'm already signed in. also this is not even the same course and I am not a premium member, I just bought the course bundle from a humble bundle and the source files folder there does not include any of the polyhaven stuff or that "Terrain.PNG" file the teacher is using in the video. I cannot doiwnload your version of the source files i guess. Cause the link that i was given on your site to download the source files doesn't include them and I can only find one of the files on polyhaven. None of the free terrain files are the one the teacher is using. I know it's not that important, but what does it seem like my version of the class is missing a lot of stuff that other people seem to have who are premium members on the site? Here's a screenshot of what happens when i click the link you sent me Omar Domenech, it asks me to sign in and then when I try to sign in it shows what's in the screenshot, so i can't download the source files from there and the version I have access to must be different. Untitled5.png

    Hi Tim BBrowneyebill ,

The HUMAN Course is not included in the Humble Bundle.

You don't have a different version of the Fundamentals Course Files; the Textures are just not included (they are also, as you say, not important, just examples as to how Brush Textures work).

  • Omar Domenech replied

Oh ok I see now. Well you can always join the CG Cookie Discord, there's probably people there that have resources and stuff and may be able or willing to share.
