Chimney model.  I'm just getting the shape to resemble the final model until I sculpt it. I'm sure there is a way to shape out the blocks properly

  • Shawn Blanch(blanchsb) replied

Oh I love the variation of depth oosado . Very nice!

  • Kent Trammell replied

Wonderful blockout oosado! I agree with Shawn - Love the variation of depth in the masonry. You've earned full points from me for week 1 👍

I can't wait to see sculpted accents added for week 2!

  • Osado (osado) replied

Getting ready to do some sculpting now

  • Shawn Blanch(blanchsb) replied

How's it coming oosado? Do you have anything to share on your awesome ideas for the Chimney?
No worries if you need more time.

  • Kent Trammell replied

Any update on the sculpting progress oosado?

  • Ingmar Franz(duerer) replied

oosado Kent has shared an instructional video about the modeling of the chimney stones on my Collab 2021 WIP thread here (scroll down to the orange frame). I find it very helpful!

  • Ingmar Franz(duerer) replied

oosado This is already looking good! I would just avoid placing mortar joints at the almost vertical corner edges because this evokes the impression of thin stone slabs.

  • Osado (osado) replied

Hello everyone! All of you are awesome thanks for the help. I'm in finals week (or weeks) right now so it has been hard to make time but we will see what happens. Really looking forward to seeing the entire process it took to make the scene

  • Kent Trammell replied

I'm glad to see you're not out! You can knock out the rest of your chimney this week 👌

  • Shawn Blanch(blanchsb) replied

Good luck on finals osado! Take care of important things first but I hope you get the time to keep going. Week 4 is make-up week for this reason.

  • Ingmar Franz(duerer) replied

oosado I wish you successful finals 😀 and I'm looking forward to your sculpted and textured chimney 😀!
