This is what I hope to achieve with my Trident in Blender (Look in gallery to see). This has 3 forms: Trident, Dagger, and Railgun. I made small notes for clarification, which (hopefully) will remain visible (also apologies for bad handwriting, I can clarify if need be). Any thoughts on making this dream into a reality?

The two blades on either side contain telescopic stages of extensions, and hinges. The blades angle down via hinges, and extend via telescopic mechanisms.
I see how the trident and dagger can work but how does the railgun work?
