This project started simple with the bonsai tutorial here on cgcookie.
I then tried to create cherry blossom petals all by myself since they are my absolute favorite flowers/trees, and for a complete beginner i'm really proud of the result.
I then just played around a bit with emission since i'm not good at working with light sources.
Turned out i really love the glowy feeling of a starry night it gives me.
Maybe i play around with it again when i'm more experienced in working with textures, particlesystem, compositing,... to create a more realistic render because i really love the theme of glowing cherry blossoms.
I have still a lot to learn, so feedback is appreciated :)
Since it's 1920x1080 it should fit most smartphones, so feel free to use it as your wallpaper!
(i will try to focus more on wallpaper-suitable renders in the future.)
Looking super pretty. I think the only feedback is the placement of the leafs on the branches, you can see their planar direction, you can introduce more rotation randomness so they don't all look pointing to the same direction. Just a nit pick, it looks super good 🤙🏼

It was my first time working with a hair system, so i was a bit overwhelmed and couldn't make it look any better on the tree.
