I decided to practice the basics I have learned so far by making a signet ring using the mirror modifier and sculpting some patterns on the surface.
Next I plan to improve some of the mesh to remove a few dinks and re-create the sculpting in higher detail.
I will then move on to giving it a more realistic material and textures.
Update:
I changed the mesh to make it slightly more robust and began to rough out some detail on a new sculpt.

Some suggesstions: smooth out the areas in between the engravings, in some places you can see artifacts from the underlying mesh. You can make the sculpting even more detailed and once you unwrap it you can just bake the details into a normal map.
