SciFi Crate Final

In the fundamentals of 3d Modelling, @jlampel suggests making a SciFi Crate as a way of practising your skills. I loved the idea, so I sort of took it overboard. I wanted a crate that could carry liquid and could be assembled easily. That led to learning how to do fluid sims and a whole bunch of animation. In the end it took on a life of its own and I'm pretty happy with how it looks!

  • hermitesque Thank you very much for your answer 😀! I'm still fascinated by how well everything is running smoothly in your animation! Great work 👍!

  • Hey friends! Thanks so much for the kind words! The whole "share your work with others" thing is pretty scary to me but with such a wonderful community...well...it's pretty special

Jonathan your tutorials have been truly amazing, thanks for those once again!

Adrian, full respect for the avatar (and some lovely modelling work yourself!)

And Ingmar, for a container like this you'd usually have a rubber/silicon stretchy seal to make an interference fit. I started getting impatient though and cheated by making the top of the lid glass as well. If I were to extend this I'd definitely add that rubber seal and also some more on the latching system.

  • hermitesque Excellent modeling, shading and animation 😀👍! Given the "healthy" looking green glowing liquid I hope that this crate is as tight as it looks 😉😁!
