Sci-Fi Hoverbike Final

This hoverbike was modeled during the awesome vehicle modeling class by @theluthier, which was a lot of fun. Texturing it provided a real challenge since I'd never textured such a big project before, but it was definitely fun, especially making the small stitching on the seat. • I'm still a beginner, so I'm looking at that topology with my jaw on the floor. I have a long, long way to go. Great work!

  • Kent Trammell(theluthier)

THIS RESULT! Wow. Brilliant job, Bauke. Just wow 👏👏

  • tbrbn tthepainter Damn we got a whole group in this corner now, by our powers combined we can become Substance pros!

  • Everyone in this class have chosen vehicle with blueprints. You have chosen to challenge yourself the most with custom design and no blueprints. You also pushed it harder and did all the texturing and shading. You did an amazing job, man. I will now go and join Aaron in the corner :)

  • fantastic work baukepost , turned out really sweet, love it :)

  • I'll take a giant slap in the face for 100$ please :D In all seriousness awesome job baukepost , you've been dedicated to this project from A to Z and the result is just splendid. Don't you dare stopping at this level mate, you enjoy doing it and it's awesome to see your progress, I'm sure (for what my voice is worth) you'll easily find a way to jump in the industry if this is your goal !!

I'll be in the corner with thecabbagedetective sobbing. Thank you for rocking at it, it's a huge motivation and wake up call for me :)

  • baukepost Yeah I think once I'm done with these projects I have now that's going to be my next stop. Can use the payment to fund a Substance subscription.

But for now if you don't mind I'm gonna go sit in a corner and cry about how amazing this is. If this is something you can produce consistently I could easily see you either being a freelancer or working in the industry, keep it up my dude.

  • thecabbagedetective Thanks Aaron, that's high praise :o. I've done two or three small projects before this one (they didn't look all that great). The way I got a little bit better is by following the introduction to Substance Painter 2018 on Youtube, it teaches you all the steps of good quality texturing while making an old rusty lantern. The Blender to Substance course by Jonathan Lampel is also excellent for learning. I'd love to see your scorpion textured, please post some work in progress shots in the forum (feedback is always vital).

  • How? Just, I don't... the textures, how did yo- WHY IS THIS SO GOOD?!

In all seriousness phenomenal job, I'd really like to know how long you've been messing with Substance and overall how you got along with texturing 'cause this is where I want to break into next.

Am I jealous? Hell yeah I am. But seriously Bauke, this is one helluva render, I hope to be this good one day.

  • Your hoverbike looks absolutely awesome! Love the color scheme and all the dents and scrapes. Great job Bauke :-)
