Inspiration comes from the strangest places sometimes. This design is inspired by Adam Savage's Lead Balloon toy car from the "Toy Car vs. Real Car" myth on Mythbusters. Jomar Machado's amazing work on CG Society shows some influence here as well. Modeled in Blender. Rendered in Cycles at 1000 passes with HDR studio lighting. Minimal post production in Photoshop. The button rivets were placed using the Hair particle system to place objects at the vertices.
