This Lotus Flower is a personnal project in which I first wanted to challenge myself in accomplishing the petal texture procedurally.
Once the petal was done, it was time to assemble the flower. But I wasn't done challenging myself and I took pleasure in finding a way to create the flower using geometry nodes.
For the environment, I'm sure that you'll have recognized Kent's "Macro Sessions" style (very highly inspired from the dew droplet chapter).
Stunning!
Awesome work Yves, lovely render. The depth of field gives it such a nice vibe and the translucent shader in the petals works superbly. 🤙🏼
Thx Omar!
It's always a pleasure to read your comments. ^^
Great work: flowers are always challenging — which is why, in addition to the Macro course, I recommend this ancient, ancient tutorial by Blender Guru, a. k. a. Andrew Price: https://www.blenderguru.com/tutorials/how-to-make-cherry-blossom-flowers?rq=flowers
“A perfect blossom is a rare thing: you could spend your whole life looking for them, and it would not be a wasted life.” From my favourite movie, The Last Samurai: seems very apropos. 😁
Thx, it's a nice reference you have there. Yet it does take us years back.
I definitely must have had an unconscious influence of Andrews cherry blossom render kept in my memory somewhere. XD
