This is something I originally made for someone else, but I didn't end up giving it to them because I wanted to do something different for them. I do think it looks great though, so I decided to use it for my own use cases. I will use a still from this on the front of my own physical business cards, and if the platform allows, then use the animation as a background for digital business cards. This can also be used elsewhere as I see fit.
This is made in Blender and rendered in Cycles. One of the things I learned from this is to turn off everything but the camera rays for the background. That cuts down the render time for a 4k frame down to 24s per frame, and 6s at 1080p on an RTX 4060. There is no reflections or lighting influence of the background as a result, but do we really need that here?
