I heard C4D is very decent software in its own right. Just expensive, like the other big ones.
I've never used Houdini, so I have no metric.
Not at everything. And I think Houdini is more powerful than Blender.

I am not very familiar with blender yet. it is kind of hard because i was used to C4D for almost 20 years. But I also enjoy it.
I've been using Blender since early January.
