Beginning with Primitives
Starting from Blender's default cube, we will work with primitives to build the shapes of our chest.
In this lesson, we will create the essential wooden structure of our chest or the "block out", giving us the basic shape to work with as we proceed with the next steps.
Essential Techniques for all your Future Blender Projects
This simple, stylized treasure chest is a lot of fun to create! But understand that it's only a means to an end. The best part about this project is that it teaches you all the essential techniques and workflows for creating anything with Blender. After this course, you can apply what you learn here to endless Blender projects.
Tip: As you progress through the course. Think about how the methods can be applied to other projects. When you're done with your treasure chest, you will be equipped to tackle any object that's in your head.

Objects merged can't edit
Hello I'm new here and having a little trouble. Can't select each object individually. Just one solid object.
Here is what happened. I'm assuming I have linked objects turned on or parenting ... could you point me in the right direction?

I can't change streaming resolution quality?
Hi!
In all other tutorials that I've been watching here, and I think it's four or five of them, I was able to change the streaming resolution quality. But, in this course for some reason it's not possible?
To be more specific, since I'm watching tutorial on smaller second monitor, which is not full HD, I want to change quality from 1080p to 720p, because letters and whole Blender interface are then sharper and easier to read.
So, is there really something different with the player on this course or is it something with my browser?
Thanks!

Alt+S to thicken the curved portion of the lid is acting differently in 2.90.1 than in video
When I do this, the mesh extrudes evenly to either side of the faces instead of to inside or outside. Is there a setting or to
ggle to change this?

Cant fill the last face.
21.30-22.25, when filling the faces the last one wont fill. It works when i select three of four verts, but not for all four or witht he edges like in the tutorial. The "F2 addon" is enabled and there doesnt seem to be any duplicate geometry. It deosnt amtter which three i select, it fills anyway.

When extruding the lid planks, and doing Alt+S, I get planks without side faces.

When extruding the lid planks, and doing Alt+S, I get planks without side faces.
Basically, decided to re-do the tutorial just for practice, and got this problem.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/rjnf32kxm47roev/my%20treasure%20chest%20LID%20PROBLEM.blend?dl=0
Linked the project file with lid planks just before the Extrude.
This time I can't find a solution, and it creates more and more problems when I'm trying to fix those faces by filling. Any tips? Thanks!!

Another snapping question (sorry)

Another snapping question (sorry)
So I was having issues I couldn't seem to resolve with this a while back, and I actually had to walk away from this particular module because I was getting so frustrated. I was having issues with blender doing strange things that were making it difficult for me to do what is shown in the videos.
I had asked questions before but I didn't seem to work out the issue completely.
I'm back at it again and I've stumbled back into one of the same old issues I had originally and that is my snapping isn't working as advertised. I went through the other questions and tried some of the other fixes I've seen, however I have not found a fix yet. I have the same selections highlighted and when I try to snap to vertex , the object I'm scaleing goes nuts. It's supposed to only scale y as that is what I'm after at this time (though it does it doesn't matter what axis I'm using) and as is shown in my video, I get some odd behavior from blender.
Now I can obviously just zoom in and eyeball it and move on but I know that these tools are needed to really be able to work at a productive pace and I also know that not understanding how to do this will eat at me in the long run, I really want to understand what I've got going on and how to use the tool as it should be.
Here is a video of the issue that I'm having.
If anyone can see what it is that I'm doing wrong here please help me. I love this course and blender but this is a tripping point I have to figure out to move forward. Thanks in advance to everyone!

For anyone who has problems with snapping, and also scaling bottom part, check your transform pivot point.

Title. Don't ask how many times I redid everything... Checked all questions before, and none helped.
Gladly I found an issue. Set your Transform Pivot to median. Hope it'll help someone :D
