This course has taken a few different forms and has evolved a lot over the last 10 years and has successfully taught thousands of people how to 3D model. Like the name implies, weβre going to talk about the foundational, most important tools and concepts that youβll need throughout your modeling journey, whether youβre going into games, animation, visual effects, industrial design, architecture, or any field of computer graphics.
By the end of this course, you should be able to model basic objects with ease and have a good idea of how to approach more complex ones. If youβre an intermediate or advanced modeler already, you can expect to fill in the gaps in your education, learn good habits, and improve the overall quality of your models.Β
What can i say other than wow, there is a lot crammed in to this course, and the tutor does a fantastic job of keeping it as simple as possible, whilst pushing our beginner skills to the limits at the same time
I thoroughly enjoyed the course, the pace was great, the learning was really good, tons to take in and practice, especially remembering to always check for stray vertices and using "merge by distance" if there are any, and also "recalculate normals"
I am very happy with what i accomplished here and all this course has taught me, so that i can take it along through the rest of my learning and keep adding to it
The final challenge was a lot of fun too, felt a bit like being pushed into the deep end at first, but that was just nerves and my ADHD... couldnt be happier overall
Thank you Jonathan, i look forward to the next course of yours i take on
I really needed something to get my Blender journey underway, and to get it doneΒ right.Β This course did the trick! It's packed with tons of good information and lots of exercises.Β
The final assignment really puts everything you've learned to the test, and if you take it seriously you absolutely will see yourself improve at lightning speed!
I've gained so much confidence in my skills from this course, and I'd recommend it to just about anyone.
Hey everybody! I took a super long break from 3D modeling and drawing. When I left, there was only Blender 2.7 =)
Recently, I felt a desire to get back into creative things and, of course, remembered that CG Cookie is a nice place to get knowledge and dive into some challenges.I'm surprised that I remember quite a lot!I really like the CORE program; everything is in one place.
I've just finished CORE: Mesh Modeling. Digital Sculpting is next.
Really glad that Jonathan is still around and giving amazing lessons.
Mixed feelings... Quite boring... Exercises are good, but quite basic, with the final exercise being definitely a challenge, however after watching a lot of theory in the course, I used mainly ChatGPT for help instead of recalling or rewatching the lessons... Should be more practice, otherwise with current AI tools the course will become pretty useless very soon IMHO. Couple of added stars exclusively for great community help during the course - thank you guys!
I've tried many courses in the past but this was the easiest to understand and grasp what is taught while also having a path set for you to follow after you finish, highly recommended.
great course , information is structured really good to be understood quickly and ready to apply in practical exercises
After downloading Blender several times over the years I finally decided actually dive in and try to get a firm grasp of the basics. This course did just that. I feel far more confident than I ever have from just dabbling in random YouTube tutorials. The course is well laid out and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a solid foundational exposure to 3D modeling fundamentals.
Even after following Blender Tutorials on YouTube for almost 8 years, I feel like I learned a lot about the fundamentals of modelling. The speed I create models has improved because I use the methods in this course to reduce the amount of work I do on each object.
