Can you do a course on how to make procedural shaders?

Examples:

Nodes:

(found that on a discord server and thought it was cool)

See what I mean...How to make cool shaders out of math and texture coordinates. That would be great!

P.S. a guy made a hat out of a sphere which was AWESOME, if u could do another course on that, that would be great (if u decide to do the course)

P.S.S. Please make a community discord server

P.S.S.S  I edited this message like 10 times no exaggeration

Please answer my other question. XD

I cant really answer thatquestion for you. Im clueless on animation nodes. Im in the process of learning shader nodes. You will need the instructors to answer you in on that. Ido know they are working on new features as fast as they can. Just be patient.

......im talking about shader nodes....and im talking to the instructers if they are reading this....sorry!

and thanks for the discord link

Hi tt3ch - While we have a lot of procedural shading content in our library, I think what you're asking about is the crazy stuff that Simon Thommes and 100drips create. I say "crazy" because they are among the few exceptional procedural artists right now and their work is more like magic. VERY COMPLEX in other words.

We did a livestream with Simon where he explained some of his techniques but we don't have have any courses teaching at that high level. Frankly I want/need to learn how to do it myself first 😅

As for the diamond pattern you posted, it's a fairly simple design but disproportionately complex to create it procedurally with Blender shader nodes. In other words it seems like an overly niche thing to teach with very little practical use, since it would be far simpler to create the design with photoshop  or krita.

Well, it's something that many people want to learn including myself.....to me its magic but I really really want to learn it...please try to make a course called "Magic of Procedural Shaders" or something....Would help me so much!

We aspire to do exactly that! I see that you've suggested this in the forum thread of tutorial suggestions too. That's great because it helps us gauge broader interest too. So thanks for making the suggestion 👍

No problem! I'm excited now! :D

I suggest you to also check this facebook group moderated by Joakim Tornhill (who's behind Blender Insight). I usually avoid facebook groups as they are very toxic but it's one of the few ones that is very friendly as welcoming towards beginners so I recommend it :)
