17:05 Edge Loop not getting the scaled Y straight edges

Yikes got stuck on this for quite a while, maybe this little note will help someone else learning.

I could not get Scale Y 0, then get Grab Y to work.
Turns out I'd enabled Proportional Editing by accidentally pressing the letter "o," instead of the number 0 right by it.

Loving these courses you guys rock!

Thanks for sharing this tip! No doubt you're not alone accidentally hitting "o" instead of 0.

88ender88 I can't tell you how many times I hit the wrong key when trying to do something.

Some more common key mistakes I make include:

Hitting the 'H' key hides everything when I meant to move something with 'G' (alt + H will unhide)

Hitting Windows Key instead of Alt

Hitting 1,2, or 3 in object mode when trying to select verts/edges/faces and I accidentally turn off views of collections instead. (I just turn them back on in the view port or hit Shift + 1 + 2 + 3 to reverse this , or just hit undo with Ctrl + Z)

Forgetting that I left 'O' on and I accidentally proportionally edit way more than I intended. Thank goodness for undo.

The list goes on and on, but my biggest irritation is hitting Caps Lock when I meant to hit Shift key. I do this all the flippin time.
I got a sweet keyboard during Christmas that lets me turn off the Caps Lock, it has become so handy. I have thought about reprogramming it with the program REWASD that I purchased a while back. I could make it do the same as Shift key does that way. I just keep forgetting to do it haha.

Long story short. You're not alone. and you will make more mistakes like this so just learn from them and learn to laugh because we all make them
