Issues with using boolean modifier/cutting out a hole in my model

Hi there, Hope this is okay to post a question that I have here :)I'm new to blender and I thought I could start off with modelling a Nintendo Switch to see how far I could go and how much I could learn. I'm trying to cut a hole in my mesh for the left analogue stick however here are the issues I'm facing in the pictures below.


I'm trying to use the boolean modifier and I'm unsure how to fix the meshes shading etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

    Hey, welcome Daniel! Are you using Auto Smooth in the Object Data properties? That should help.

    Hi there, I wasn't using auto smooth but I've now turned it on. Thank you very much :)
