Hair Shape no change in Solid Viewport

Hi everyone.

When I edit hair particle, I encounter a problem.

No matter how I change Hair shape setting.

The hair in solid viewport will not follow the changing.

It only show up when I turn on Render Viewport.

I am using Blender 2.82, from many files I download from the others, they not face this problem.

What I am missing here?

When using Cycles, the shape won't do anything in Solid Shading Mode; it's a render thing.

When using Eeevee, you can (in the render properties panel) set the Hair Shape Type to Strip, to even see the shape in Solid Mode:

In fact, if you leave it at Strand, you won't even see any shape when rendered.

I checked this, It work as in eevee.

But I downloaded a model from Blender nation today.

The shape can be adjustable in Hair shape and it show in his solid viewport.

And I check the render engine, it is still Cycle, but somehow the viewport still act as in Eevee.

Oh, I agree that that is very confusing, but If you switch the render engine to Eevee in that file, you will see that the Hair Shape Type is set to Strip! Some settings  made in Eevee 'keep working' when you change to Cycles.

This is awesome. I have been trying to figure out hair for eevee for a little while now and nothing has explained how to see it as well as this little exchange.
