Double click FBX to open it with belnder?

Collaborations

Hello, I wonder if it's possible to set up some way so you would open FBX just by double-clicking it in windows and blender would load it. Similar to how it works with Modo.

Sure, you can tell Windows your preferred Application with which to open any file, so also FBX.

I don't use Windows anymore, so I can't tell you exactly where to set this, but that shouldn't be too hard to find.

Main thing is that you set that in your OS, not in Blender.

By default it does not seems to work. Blender instantly crashes if you try to do so. Does it work on Mac?  Added vid below but not sure if it works.

Sorry, you seem to be correct.

It doesn't appear to be possible.

Tried it on Linux and Blender crashes on opening.

Could have something to do with the fact that Blender has to import the FBX and importing is a Blender operator, so it can only import after Blender is opened. (I don't know this, but I can imagine it is something like this...)

Just tried this with Blender 2.79b.

It opens Blender without crashing, but the FBX then still needs to be imported; it just opens with the default scene.
