When adding new shapes to an object, do you prefer adding news shapes outside of that object and manage them as a collection or you add them in edit mode? What is your experience for better flexibility down the road? Best practices in the industry? For example if you add lamps and bumpers to a car....
Best practice is to add them out of the main object so they are easier to translate and assign custom materials for example.
