Gray Scale values

Kent, this may seem like a ridiculous question but it is an issue I have noticed when controlling surface noise using the Color Ramp/Gray scale values. As I follow along with the video and setup the gray scale ramps, values that are close or identical to yours appear quite a bit darker in shade. This of course increases the reflective nature of the shader output. I am currently working with 2.79b. There seems to be a major difference in how the value range, 0-1 in the HSV, RGB color picker is calculated between older and newer versions of Blender. Is this true? If so, is there a way to take this into account when settings these values?

    Hi gfjarvis3

You are absolutely right, if I am not mistaken: what used to be (in earlier versions of Blender) a greyscale Value (in HSV) of 0.5 is now a RGB of (0.5, 0.5, 0.5).

This video still used the 'old' system, I think, hence the difference...

Thanks, I believe your right. I went back after posting and looked at the differences.
