Need Help - Grey Object Color

Hello, I been working on the Treasure Chest tutorial which is very fun and great to work with, no issues other than that my middle mouse does not act the same but that's another issue that I worked around.

Anyways, somewhere during the progress of UV mapping (or earlier I didn't really notice it until randomly) I noticed one of my mirrored objects in the top is a dark grey color in edit mode and object mode. This is only in Solid View however and I can't figure out why. Only one side of the mirror is grey too.

I googled some fixes, the best I could find was flipping the normals but that wasn't the issue. Any ideas?

(I have added screenshots of both sides of the object, grey and normal)

    xxelm is your material assigned to these parts of the chest? that's the only thing I can think of, maybe double check to be sure

    ssmurfmier1985 Thank you for the reply. There seems to be. Not sure if there's a good way to check that I'm not thinking of however the other side is doing fine and it's a mirrored object so it should effect both sides in that case I think? ^^

    Edit: I just removed the materials on that piece and it is still darker than the other side. So it's not a material issue.

    xxelm I can't figure out what is going on there. You're using a mirror modifier? Then this is very strange behaviour!

    If you could send a link to your .blend, I'd love to take a look at it.

    xxelm do you happen to have bevel modifier before mirror? at some point i got similar weird shading issues when having bunch of modifiers before mirror that mirrored whole object to other side.

    louhikarme Mirror is the only modifier I have on it. And I think it only started after I touched the UV map. But even if I disable textures or materials it still shows. Maybe it's just a Blender bug..

    spikeyxxx Yup, mirror modifier only. I'll do some poking around a bit myself when I can first, but right now I'm at work so I can't do anything until like tomorrow.
