Blender 2.8 Tutorials Needed asap.

I'm having a devil of a time re-learning Blender in v 2.8.

It would be great if you CG folks could bless us with some start to finish 2.8 tutorials of a simple scenes using textures, principled shader, hdris, etc.

A shack in a field w glass windows, sci-fi environment w asteroid, whatever, e.g.

Trying to adapt all your courses to the new version is nearly impossible.

Thanks, Alan

In the last livestream, this question was asked and they are working on some 2.8 tutorials.  The livestreams since at least June 2018 have jumped between 2.8 and 2.7, so maybe you could take a look at those to start.  There's also the Eevee docs for reference if that's the render engine you're using.  Don't worry; new tutorials are in the works.

I'm not so sure I share your opinion.
I tried followed 2.8 tutorials... so many bugs on the way and very little learning of tools. No regrets though.

2.8 has some issues to solve before it can be shared with confidence. Many bugs and constant changing... which aren't a great climate for producing  tutorials and support.
I'd rather wait for the 2.8 to be stable and robust before other tutorials follow.

NB - only my personal opinion.

2.8 has not hit stable release yet, that's why everybody is waiting to dive in deep with tutorials...

things are quite possibly going to change until stable release

We have a fairly recent course that covers a good amount of areas in Blender 2.8 here: https://cgcookie.com/course/creating-mini-tanks-for-a-mobile-game

    Hi, jgonzalez,

Yes, this seems to be the first tut to seriously use 2.8. I've fiddled a bit with it. So, thank you.

CGCookie is usually on the case so no surprise.

    Hi donbonbon

Would like to know which 2.8 tutorials you followed. If from 2018 I would agree.

But with latest 2.8 beta released, continuing and encouraging others to work with 2.79, knowing how different 2.8 is, is misleading.

Rather be learning  in a beta 2.8 environment than wasting more time in 2.79.

    Alan

    IMHO too.

awa This was also one of our first tutorials on Blender 2.8: https://cgcookie.com/tutorial/modeling-an-ornamental-shield-with-blender-2-8 but I believe the tank course covers a lot of what you're asking.
