dragonice69 Aww.. hopefully they fix it soon in 2.8! Good luck with the course, it's an awesome one so I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun ! 😃

  • Kent Trammell replied

dragonice69 Currently 2.8 alpha 2 doesn't support the multi-res modifier. In order to sculpt with 2.8 you have to use dynamic topology. Sorry for the confusion/inconvenience.

  • Dragonice (dragonice69) replied

Corners didn't really work for me.

  • Jake Korosi(jakeblended) replied

dragonice69 No way, they look almost perfect!  Things like sharp corners, on a real project, you would likely want to finesse out during retopology anyway - you can spend a half an hour trying to get a corner perfect in sculpt mode.   Ask me how I know that.... :)

  • silentheart00 replied

dragonice69 Good work, dudette!  Good edges, good forms, if a little bumpy.  Good start.

  • smurfmier1985 replied

dragonice69 They look very nice!! 🙂👍🏻

    nekronavt always :)

Nice Melvin!  He's got some personality there.  The bent leg is a touch longer than the other, the fist would use some sharper creases, maybe a tighter wrist to help that thumb form.  The bent leg is also part of the bottom; there's no delineation, if that makes sense.  The hand making the \m/ has thick fingers, so maybe they could be thinned a little to better fit the proportions of the "m".  The thumb is also really awkward.  If you make the same symbol with with your own hand, you'll find the thumb pulls forward into the palm instead of staying at the side.  I like the personal touch.  Keep going!

  • Dragonice (dragonice69) replied

silentheart00 My husband said that this thumb looks like resting willy :D

I'm finding it hard. Maybe mouse is not the best option for sculpting or I have no talent for that or just need more practise. We will see, I'm not giving up so fast ;)

  • silentheart00 replied

dragonice69 Oh, a mouse!  Yeah, that's a bit of a challenge, there.  I would definitely recommend a tablet of some sort if you're willing to go further into sculpting.  I think Kent talked about it in the stream.

  • smurfmier1985 replied

dragonice69 Yeahhhh!!! Rock and metal lover over here, so it won't be a surprise that I LOVE THIS MELVIN!! 🤘🏻😎

So you sculpted this with a mouse? That's a much more difficult job then with a pen & tablet (which will feel more like drawing so more natural for this), so extra points for that.

Sculpting takes a lot of getting used to, it's so different from what you normally do with a computer, so just practice a lot and it will go better and become easier every time 😊

    dragonice69 Yeah, looking better.

  • Wilco Wilbrink(carrotnl) replied

dragonice69 That's a great sculpt! Nice and smooth. Rock on! 👍😃

  • Kent Trammell replied

dragonice69 Like jakeblended said, your primitives are nearly perfect! Wow. This exercise is a challenge because it's impossible to perfect. But you've made it closer to perfect than most.

And your punk metal Melvin is awesome. Haha I love the personality you infused into him. Way to make this your own and knock it out of the park!

You've earned an A this week for sure.

My husband said that this thumb looks like resting willy

    That cracked me up 😂

    @theluthier

Waaaaaitttt...I started the face I still have some time so don't grade me yet :D

  • Kent Trammell replied

dragonice69 No worries - I'll happily update your grade. Looking forward to seeing your face sculpt!

  • Dragonice (dragonice69) replied

    OK!

I did it... with a mause so noone can tell me now that it's imposible :D

I'm so sorry for decapitated head but I forgot about the shoulders at the beggining and when I wanned to make them now I'm getting very weird shapes I can't really deal with.
