BC1-1808 Homework, Williamatics

Collaborations

Because of pressure from thecabbagedetective and yyukinoh1989 (Don't worry, it's good pressure), I have decided to start a homework thread.  Since I'm late, I don't think my primitives will be as grandiose as some that others have made, but I still hope to make something great.

Here is what I have so far.

williamatics Go for it, William 😃

  • Aaron Rudderham(thecabbagedetective) replied

Aw shucks, didn't mean to pressure you, but hey if it's considered good I'm glad you decided to take it up, good luck for the first week!

  • William Miller(williamatics) replied

Here it is again, now with more firepower!

  • Scott McClellan(pffsfs) replied

    Looking good William

  • silentheart00 replied

Good start.  Looking forward to your final submission.

  • William Miller(williamatics) replied

Thank you!  I'm rather disappointed by my inability to make huge scenes like many of you have done, but then again, I don't exactly intent to make all (or any, really)  of my artwork out of primitives.

  • Aaron Rudderham(thecabbagedetective) replied

williamatics Ah don't worry about it, it's mostly just a challenge to see what you can make with insane restrictions, not to mention as you said it's not exactly something you'll be doing all the time, if ever. Hey, gives you more gusto for the other pieces of homework! Looking forward to this being finished.

    Week 1 Homework

Well, I'm out of time, so I guess this is my submission.

Unfortunately, it's exactly the same as it was last time.

  • silentheart00 replied

williamatics Hey, you did what you could with the time you had.  I'm sure you had big plans, but life happens sometimes.  Good effort!

  • yukino hatake(yukinoh1989) replied

williamatics believe it or not I also kept my fingers crossed for your joining.

You seems liking these war machines so this something can attack your June tank in a game, or opposite :D

Really remind me of some airships desing from warhammer 40K, nice job, you may want to check the thunderhawk form warhammer 40K for inspiration.

williamatics Still looks cool William 😎

  • Aaron Rudderham(thecabbagedetective) replied

williamatics Don't worry about it dude, you did good with the time you had, now you can concentrate on the coming weeks!

  • Kent Trammell replied

williamatics Like silentheart00 said, "Time is a cruel mistress". Sometimes it just disappears. Regardless, you've accomplished the exercise and earned an A 👍

  • Jake Korosi(jakeblended) replied

williamatics that reminds me a little of the "ekranoplan" I mentioned once during the vehicle modeling class.

I understand what you mean about the challenge of using only primitives.  It's an important exercise for brand new Blender artists but it's -hard- for someone used to working in edit mode already.  In a normal project I don't think I ever have objects that I haven't manipulated with edit mode or at least modifiers in some way.
