how to model this for later use ?

Hey guys i wonder if i would want to make a eevee (pokemon) (recently i noticed that there is someting called eevee too in blender xD) how would it be best to be made?
for example when i sculpt should i first sculpt the body then the fur around the neck as a diffrent object or how should that be done? I kinda wonder what would be best, since for animation the fur should be able to be a bit flexible right ?
this is a eevee https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Eevee_(Pok%C3%A9mon)

You can always join objects together and merge verts if you need one solid mesh for animating.  I haven't done much animating, so I don't know what's best.  But, if you're sculpting it, you're going to need to retopo it anyway, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Well that is why i wonder since i would have to retopo the model if it should be several objects for later to get in animation , like the eyes and fur around his neck .
But indeed that is true i forgot about the vertices that i could merge . Trough still i wonder when sculpting and doing the retopo if the mesh should be seperated parts or not . still kinda new and wondering about that .

yyukinoh1989 I would suggest eyes to be a separate object.  Don't know about the fur around his neck.

So you're going to make eevee for the final week then? Pretty cool! :) You're Melvin was very good so I think you will do great!

I found a video on YouTube on how to animate eevee in Blender, perhaps it will help you determine how to sculpt eevee? In the video it looks like the fur around the neck is attached to the rest of the body, as far as my inexperienced eyes can tell. Haven't watched the whole video though it's pretty long.

Also there are a couple of eevee models on sketchfab, maybe studying them will help?

    Hope this helps!

Thank you a lot. Melvin indeed turned out pretty good  . i think i gonna try to make an eevee . I sure will do my best to make a decent eevee, or hopefully an amazing eevee :)
You actually gave me the idea that i could try this out :D
At schooltime i wish i followed my art teacher advice when i was younger. My first high school yeari had 1 hour art lessons and she said i had talent . She actually wanted me to grow and continue it but my father didnt wanted it since he didnt really believed in it :( . Been 15 years now  that i lost so i actually feel kinda bad about all the lost years, but at the same time now i found blender and this community, and i finally started to work towards my own dream :D

    Another question
Is it actually allowed to make like pokemons in 3D and make animations with them ?
I am not sure how far copyright is going or how its called .

yyukinoh1989 It's nice to know I inspired you to do eevee :)

I can totally relate to the feeling of lost time. Must be tough that your father couldn't relate to your art...

Well, now we're in a good place right? Blender is great and this community is awesome! You'll get there. You're off to an amazing start already :)

I believe fan art is allowed, as long it's a personal project. So go for it ;)

yyukinoh1989 Sorry to hear about your father not wanting you to pursue art.  But hey, better late than never!  And I think as long as you're not selling or in anyway distributing your Eevee for monetary gain, it should be fine.

You sure did :D . and ya he just finded it a waste of time . But i am indeed in the right place and i love this so much . this community is the perfect place to be :D
That is good as a child i had my own idea of pokemon story's so i want to do small animations of the ideas i had back then :)

Yep you sure are right . I am not gonna give up my dreams . I guess i am fine then since its more to get let say familiar with blender modeling , animation etc. i have a certain story in my head that i might want to use to somehow get payed but i am not possible how good i will be or if i really will be able to do what i am planning. but first things first .
improve get comfortable with blender get nice stuff and first some pokemon animations . later i trying to go for someting bigger that involve human mages , monsters and summons :)
