Face Critique Request

I've started work on a full body character and I'd like to know if I got the facial proportions relatively correct. It looks decent to me, but as my anatomy is quite poor, my opinion is probably moot.

You should submit it for a live stream critique.

I'm certainly not an expert in human sculpting, but I think your anatomy doesn't look too bad. The ears still need some work though, if you want to get some excellent information on anatomy and facial features, you should take a look at the youtube channel "Proko".

Another tip: people can't really judge your work from 1 picture, use Sketchfab :)

    Good luck!

    sshisou thats Purity good.
    Well done.

There are a few things to the face and bone structure that stand out to me but it could be because of the mat cap your using so Id like to see it from Another Angle if Possible.

The face seems to have quite a CG look to it, Could I see your Reference's ?  so I can give better advice to you.
Its also better to see the whole body with the face to tell if you have it Proportioned well.

    Kind Reguards,
    Jody

A nice character with some life in it.

The shoulders feel slightly too narrow to the this 'type' of head.

The socket on the upper lip is too deep for me. It might be fun to break some symmetries so his story get more layers.

williamatics I didn't realize that but upon investigation it appears only citizen members are allowed to submit.

baukepost Thank you for the information. I'm aware of Sketchfab, but I've always viewed it as something for completed models, though I suppose a model in any stage will do fine.

jodyls27 Here are a few links showing the references I used for the face, and some extra shots.

I didn't start out with a base mesh and instead extruded and sculpted from a sphere. I've been using reference images from Anatomy 360 and Google to help me with the body.

donbonbon Thank you for the points. I do plan on breaking symmetry later, but only after I've gotten the foundation laid out and ready to be refined.

sshisou So I see you are doing a Likeness sculpt of Tywin Lannister.
Very good choice of a sculpt.

First thing if you are doing a Likeness sculpt is to get more Reference of him and to only use reference of him. Dont have other characters there as it will confuse you and you will stray away from his look.

For anatomy a good one is also the Grassetti muscles reference pictures. I can upload them if you do not have them.

A good piece of advice for anatomy is to understand how the Muscles connect to the different bones and where. This way when you are sculpting you get a more Natural look to your body.
Also when doing the body, try to keep it in an (A) pose and not a (T) pose. The (T) pose is not good and is not used much these days, it was for rigging back in the old days to make things Simpler.

There are a few things wrong with the body, but I'm not sure if this is the latest pic. Could you upload a new more Recent one then I could Break it down for you.
Also could you give me a back  View, Front 3 quarter, and a side view.
Ill try to break done all the muscles and how to sculpt then.
