Weights acting funky on beak [Piero Tutorial]

Hey guys!

I tried to copy Kent's exact setup with the weight paints on the beak. However, mine acts really strange for some reason.

There's very bizarre distortion due to the inside contents of the beak. Kent, did you set up anything special to reduce the distortions? Or should I just be careful not to move this bone very much?

It seems like really bizarre behavior, it makes me feel like I set up something wrong. The lower jaw is parented to the beak, which is parented to the head bone like in the video.

Link to Blender file.

I'm showing way out of usual range for top and bottom just to display the effect, but the side to side motion makes issues appear almost immediately.

My guess is that the weights aren't normalized which causes the weight paint visualization (red to blue spectrum) to not be 100% accurate. Side note: When I open your file I don't get any deformation on that particular bone... 🤔

Good point, I may have forgotten to check auto normalize! Thank you!

Oh, that was the issue that I finally solved with delay refresh being accidentally checked. When it is checked, the deformation won't show until you complete the transform.
