Head bobbing to music

Hello. I'm trying to figure out how to make my logo dance to the music i make. What options do i have to make it head bang to the music?

You need to find the beat. (You make the music yourself so you know the beat.)

If the beat is 120/min than is 1 beat :

    60sec/120 = 0,5sec

If you have 24 frames a sec. You need 12 frames/beat. So you have 6 frames for your head to go up and 6 frames for the head to go down. That is very fast. You have to make a compromise to bang the head ever 2 beats or every measure. (4 beats)

If the music is made by real musicians the beat is not constant, people are no computers. In that case your animation will run off sync.

Tecno music is made with computers and runs exact with the clock.

Unfortunately techno music is usually 140 beats/min. that is 0,439 sec/beat.

The best way to make it run in sync is to make your animation with 24 frames/sec, 12 frames/beat and stretch/schrink the clip in some video editor to make it fit.

Finding the beat is not enough, you also need the downbeat as in this animation. I put my foot down on the downbeat. Listen to the music, Foot down on the 1st (downbeat) and 3th beat. You can hear very well the difference between the downbeat (1st) and 3th beat. The left foot is the downbeat.

    On the catwalk

I made the music myself for this clip with the computer, therefore the beat is constant. One walk cycle is one measure or 4 beats. The music is 90 beats/sec.,  the animation 30 fr/sec that makes 20 frames/beat or 80 frames/walk-cycle.

You could also try this method, except apply it to the rotation of his head instead of the time of the waves.
