Similar to the first question: what about cycles?

posted to: Melvin Rig Demo

I was wondering if it was possible to render Melvin in cycles. As far as I could tell, the texture only shows up in the blender internal engine. Is there any way to transfer this to cycles?

I thought it was cycles, I know all the Melvin animations I have done were rendered in cycles, but maybe the DL in the course is the older rig.

    Maybe I can ask @theluthier

ssambear You're right that the material is a Blender Internal material in the file which isn't directly compatible with Cycles. But to re-create the material for Cycles is very easy.

    1. Switch your render engine to Cycles
    2. Go to the material panel and press "Use Nodes"
    3. In the node editor you should have a principled BSDF node plugged into a Material Output Node.
    4. Add an image texture node and select the "melvin_diffuse" image.
    5. Plug the color output into the base color socket of the Principled BSDF
