Blender crashes during baking

posted to: Baking the Normals

Dear crew:
Hai!
I am studying your course“Animated Sci-Fi Game Environment Creation in Blender 2.8”. Because there is no subtitle, there is some confusion in the place of "Baking the Normals"?

The questions are as follows:
1.    What is the logic of normal baking? What's the logic of adding cage?
2.    Why always prompt "invalid cage, active object and cage face number are the same" error? Strangely, sometimes this prompt does not exist, even if the method is the same.
3.    In the process of baking, "blender" frequently collapses, and sometimes baking can be completed? Is this the problem with version 2.8 Bate?( I'm sure my system configuration is okay.)
4.    The 2.8Bate version does not seem to have a feature in version 2.7: Version 2.7 will retain the layout of the window when you exit, while version 2.8Bate will not. Every time you exit, the window is always the default style of the system?

The biggest headache is the problem 3: blender crash, which took a long time to bake and resulted in blender crash.
