looks good until removing the line-art, then looks terrible

Hi there,

I'm really trying to get the lines nice and smooth but am severely struggling. Someone told me on a previous submission that I should draw from the shoulder, but it hurts, doesn't seem to give me much control, and seems really hard, as I have a very small tablet.

I've been trying to draw the edges of the lemon, as well as the edges of the little bulbs of juice, and they look great, until I hide the lineart layer, then it just looks all over the place and crappy. Has anyone got any tips? I keep trying again, but am getting really frustrated. This isn't much of a problem when I work with physical media.

Thank-you :)

keep the line art hidden and refine the edges of your painting using a hard round brush. or merge the line art layer down (when set to multiply or lower opacity) and paint it in.
