mesh moving when working with skin modifier

I build melvin with the skin modifier. At some point, the complete mesh started to move when i dragged a vertex to another location, whilst that wasnt the case previously. What did i (accidently?) adjust to achieve this? So for example instead of moving his leg, the complet body was moving with it.

    Only explanations I can think of is that A) you accidentally had other vertices selected and didn't know it or B) you accidentally enabled proportional editing (O hotkey).
