Most of this works in Blender 2.8 but small things are still missing like the keyframe number 1 and 40 above the two key frames

    This should be fixed now in the later builds of v2.80 (I'm currently using a daily build from July 2019 v.2.80.74 but I believe this is also in the beta release) and there are now four display options under Motion Path Display that allow me to select the display of Frame Numbers, Keyframes, Keyframe Numbers, and the motion path Lines. Under Property Tab, select Object Data tab, expand Motion Paths, and then expand the Display options to reveal those settings.
