ALT + S Scaling with Even Thickness

posted to: Mailbox Modeling I

A useful tip I discovered while following this lesson. Not a question, but I'll post regardless(is this behaviour frowned upon?).

When scaling using ALT + S, you can hit S or hold ALT for "Even Thickness" during the scale operation. It's not perfect in every scenario, but it generally mitigates the need to correct the non-uniform vertices after scaling them.

It does not work when scaling with holding edges, but it does work with the mirror modifier.

I hope someone finds this helpful.

Thanks for posting this tip astute! I didn't know there was a hotkey for even thickness 👌
