How do I make the segment of the rim so it lines up perfectly?

Hi, I already submitted my wheel, I just struggled with one thing while making the segment of the rim.

My rim was made from 15 segments. I was wondering how do make the sides of the segment (the parts where it lines up with and touches the next one) perfectly straight and in the right angle, so the edges don't intersect with the segment next to it. 

What I ended up doing was to make a circular plane with 15 vertices, inset it and display only the wireframe, and centered it with the rim. I then modelled the segment in orthographic view and lined up the edges with the lines on the plane. It ended up kinda working but it was very fiddly and didnt feel very efficient :D.

What is a good way to do it? Right now I'm thinking I could make the segment a bit wider and then trim it with boolean? Or is there a better way?

    tomasplasil You have the right mindset when trying to get vertices and edge lining up. There's however more convenient ways to do so. First I would do as you did: to start with a circle and inset it (either fill in the face and inset, or extrude and scale toward its center). Then I'd suggest to add loop cuts (ctrl+r), that way the start and end vertices of each segment are connected. Finally, when you start editing the segment, try not to change the edges that hold the segment. 

    That way, when you duplicate and rotate the segment everything will be exactly at the correct spot.

    I hope this helps, I'll try not to give you the "answer" but rather guidelines so you can practice!
