Source files different than Demo

I had a couple of issues with the source files for these lessons.

1. It seems that one of the mirrors for the source files may be invalid.  I received an error when trying to download the file for these lessons.  All I saw was some XML code.  When I tried downloading from another one of the lessons it seemed to download fine.  When I came back later to check again, it worked fine also.  So I suspect a bad mirror site.  Try the other lessons until it works.

2. The scene in the Blender Internal (Blender Render) lessons is not set up the same way that Kent has it on the video. To fix this, I did the following:

Background Environment

----------------------

In the "Properties" panel (right-side of the screen), click the "Texture" icon (red and white checker).  Right below the "Pin", click the "World" icon.  There should be a texture already called "environment", but it does not have an image associated with it.  Scroll down to the "Image" subsection and select the "corporateInterior" image.

Checkerboard Floor and Backdrop

-------------------------------

The floor and backdrop object is named "Cube". Make sure it is selected. It also doesn't have an image. In fact, it doesn't have a texture at all.  In order to create a texture, I first had to create a material.  In the "Properties" panel, select the "Material" icon (circle icon between the inverted triangle and the checkerboard). Create a new material. Leave all settings at default. Now I can add a texture.  Click the "Texture" icon (red and white checker) in the "Properties" panel. Below the "Pin", make sure the middle icon is selected for the material texture. Click "New" to create a texture. Type="Image or Movie".  I had to create a new image since the checkerboard "UV" image is not included in the source.  Scroll down to the "Image" subsection and click "New".  Change type to "UV Grid" in the popup box and click "OK".

This is more or less the setup that Kent has at the beginning of the videos.  Now I can follow along with the video without being distracted by the fact that my scene looks different than the demonstration.

Thanks for taking the time to type this out so clearly oonetimeonly389. I really need to take this and set up the source file scene correctly.
