Is there a way to point an object at something without using constraints?

Hi,

I'm trying some stuff out from the course, but I'm wondering if there is a way to point objects at other things and then keep the transformation after the constraint is removed? (so the information if transferred to their local data)  For example maybe you're making a bunch of beams, use the constraint system to point the joints at each other, but want them to stay that way after you take it off.

I imagine there's something really easy to orient objects that I might be missing, since it seems like something that I want to do often.

Cheers!

If you want to keep the transformation after the constraint is removed:

    -  select the object with a constraint,

    - press Ctrl A and select 'Apply > Visual Transform'.

    - remove the constraint.
