Quick question, are you using a pen or a mouse. Also I prefer mouse, but do I need to use pen will it make my sculpting look better?
Think about this: Would it be easier to sign your name with a pen or a mouse?
In general a pen + tablet is much more intuitive for the artistic skill of sculpting. But a mouse can be used for sculpting, it's just not as natural to make sculpting movements as a pen and it's limited in not having pressure sensitivity.
I recommend experimenting with a mouse and if you find out you really enjoy sculpting, grab a pen and tablet. Also read over this article.
