Really great introduction to understanding loops-- and a note about monkeys...

This was a very well-explained video to show the topology flow of a head-- excellent reference. Thanks so much, Jonathan! I'm really looking forward to following along with the rest of this series.

On a side note: one thing you mentioned in the video was that "we came from [monkeys] at some point"... I just wanted to mention that there has never been any scientific evidence to prove this commonly believed fiction, which is unfortunately taught as "fact". Similarities (homology) in bone / muscle design, or in molecular structure between species does not imply a common ancestor but rather a common Designer.

Just as we might use the default cube as a starting point to both box-model a chair and box-model a character, the final creation is much different. They all share common "DNA" (vertices, edges, and faces) and a common primitive (Cube), but both are unique of each other, and neither object could exist without a Designer getting involved (ie. the default cube will remain the default cube until acted upon).

Imagine if the character you made was alive (in his world of 3D), and began claiming that "since my genetic makeup of vertices, edges, and faces is shared with this chair, I must have evolved from it. Jonathan Lampel didn't design me. I just happened. I shall call myself... an A-Lampel-ist." Now you know how God must feel when His creation says the same... :-) Further reading on homology: https://answersingenesis.org/biology/homology-comparative-similarities/

I hope you will find this info helpful. :-)

    Thanks again Adam!

It's incorrect to say we came from monkeys anyway (regardless of whether or not there's a common ancestor), so it was 100% a joke and not literal commentary on my belief about human origins :) I appreciate the info nonetheless and will check it out.

People didn't evolve from monkeys, but they share a common ancestor from several million years ago. Well, they share 99% of their genes with chimpanzees. Now, they're just separate species. As a nurse, I know this quite well. Even without being at the top of my class and using https://essays.edubirdie.com/nursing-essay-writing-service as a support in my studies, these things are evident. They teach us this from the very beginning.  In one way or another, you could say that all life on Earth has one common ancestor. And also, common atoms. Our atoms were once part of dinosaurs.
