What exactly is the difference between occlude and cull?

posted to: 3D Painting

I've noticed that if only Cull is enabled, that I can paint through surfaces as long as they are still facing toward the camera, and if only Occlude is enabled, it will not paint through any surfaces at all. Is there any point to having Occlude enabled and Cull disabled?

Now that you mention it, I usually turn them both off. I can't think of a reason why you would enable one and not the other. Their tool tips make them sound different enough, but still a little confusing..
