Model the belt instead of sculpting it

Greetings! I'm new to sculpting in Blender, and I don't really understand the decision you made in this video to extrat the belt from sculpt mask. 

Wouldn't it be easier to create belt using polygonal modelling from a primitive instead of sculpting it? Looking at the reference image, the belt doesn't look pretty complicated. Wouldn't it be faster and easier to model it first and then sculpt little details if needed?

    kkirill96 Yeah, that's a good point to make. I ended up doing the hat with polygon modeling, but the belt would have been a good candidate as well.
