Why No Mirror Modifier?

Especially when we got to the part of adding loop cuts and shaping the hub around the 4 minute mark, it seems very inefficient and potentially asymmetrical to not be using a mirror modifier? With such precision nudges are we really expected to makes those type of changes exactly on each side of the hub? Wouldn't a mirror modifier allow us to just do it once and have it applied on both sides of the hub?

    Hi Michael,
Why not give it a go?

If the idea is to have the hub cap symmetrical on both sides, that seems like a great idea.
However, if it's meant to be different on the inside then symmetry isn't your friend.....unless you use it as a starting point to get to your final solution...That makes it a great idea again.

Well done on all your great ideas!

If I remember correctly, this was one of those cases, where you are in the middle of Modeling something and then realise, that you could have ...(here: used a Mirror Modifier), but then just keep going anyway.
