Hello all,
Some 3d models, with curves, particle systems are complicated. Just importing the things from such complicated object that not work.
Is there any way to not just append but instantiate the object as it is, into another project file? Append does not work, it just copies a few meshes, but as I play it, of course nothing happens, because it did not append the particle system, animation sequences, etc.
So, how to instantiate an object from another project? How to append or link so it works?
Hi LLittlesheep ,
I don't know why Append wouldn't work. You should of course Append the right things (Objects, Collections,...), not Meshes for instance.
Hello Martin,
Tried linking, appending the following into another project, and certain glowing particles were not rendered at all.
So, that is why I asked, how to append or link correctly.
That happens all the time, that the only person that knows the file is the one who made it. You set things up your way, you have something linking another, you don't know that you have to append because it comes broken. That is why lots of people always emphasis to work on a pipeline basis, as if you're working on a production.
I think I know a better way now, I can setup Godot to use Blender project files. Then you can save for instance blender files directly into Godot and instantiate them, by for example dragging them into a certain scene. Seems to work well. Many things are life changed if you edit it in Blender, remove, etc. As if Blender and Godot are one program. Did not tried everything, but many things work. I myself did only try to import and island with PBR, lighting.
