UV background bleed - and change between modes

In the treasure chest course. I have a strange problem:

The mesh color changes as the Mesh goes between Object mode and Texture paint mode. The UV base color (brown) bleeds into certain parts of the mesh when going to object mode, in texture mode the color is normal

- Normals (blue and red ok. Blue is at the side where the player is

- No double faces or strange geometry

- no 2nd or 3rd hidden item at the same place

- UV shows no strange colors.

There seems to be a 2nd model if you switch between object and other modes. The geometry changes at some points.

    It does change. Perhaps caused by UV unwrap? painted and unwrap again?  Maybe somehow delete the UV and texture paint?

    How I do that?
